Cupboard:
Hi, this is Cupboard from The Cupboard in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today on Cupboard Artist Insights we’re in Las Vegas to talk to one of the true greats, Lace Face.

Welcome. Tell us what motivated you to be a glassblower and pipe maker.

Lace Face:
I just love being involved in the culture and the community. It’s a modern art form. I could make just art, but the significance of it being in this subculture is really what makes it interesting to me, and I like being a part of it.

Cupboard:
How long have you been blowing glass?

Lace Face:
I started back in 2004, so I’ve been at this almost 10 years now.

Cupboard:
Let’s talk about some of the pieces that we have in the shop.

Lace Face:
Yeah, definitely. I have these little guys here. These are my mini tubes. They’re my pride and joy. I came up with it because before my product was just hand pipes, and then I’d make these big one-of-a-kind pieces. I wanted something to kind of give the average person a little piece of me, but it’s a little fancier version. Definitely very sleek and feminine, which I think is kind of rare in this boys industry. Yeah, I love these. I just love the style, and they’ve been very popular.

Cupboard:
The Cupboard would love to help you stay in touch with your fans. Where can we find you on social media?

Lace Face:
Yeah, definitely. I post pictures on Instagram. You can find me, LaceFace, on Instagram. I also have a fan page on Facebook, so LaceFaceGlass on Facebook.
