My actual name is Derek Allison and I was born and raised in a small town called Greenville, Michigan. My glass studio is called Hion Glass and is located in Greenville, MI where I currently reside. My dad used to blow glass in our garage when I was in middle school and that is when my love for glass started. I would stand there all evening mesmerized by the ability to manipulate the glass into different shapes. I started lampworking years later at the age of 26 and developed a true passion for bright vibrant colors, smooth lines, and pattern work. These components play a major role in my body of work. I've currently been lampworking for 6 years and I'm excited to develop my skills and abilities over the years to come!
