Frequently Asked Questions

Questions that we are frequently asked, and our answers to them. If you have a question that hasn't been answered here, please fill out our contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I order online and pick up at your store in Cincinnati?"Yes! You will have to enter your shipping address as if you were getting the package shipped, and then later on in the checkout process, under shipping options, you can choose in-store pick-up. Please note that it may take up to one full business day for your in-store pick-up order to be fulfilled. You will receive an email when its ready for pick-up.
How long until I receive my item?Your item will be shipped within 2 business days of receiving your order. Most orders placed before 3pm (eastern time) on a business day will be shipped that day! After the package leaves our building, shipping typically takes around 2-5 days. Once the shipping process has begun you will receive an email with the tracking number so you can track your order.
Where can I enter a coupon code? Many people get confused when they don't see a place to enter a discount code during the checkout process. This is because the coupon code must be entered before the checkout process, on the shopping cart page.

To get to your shopping cart page, hover over Cart (top right corner of any CupboardGlassPipes page), and within the dropdown window click "View All".
How do you ship this stuff without it breaking??Very carefully! Many glass pieces will be shipped in a box within a box for an extra layer of protection. Any empty space is filled in with bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc.

Any especially expensive and extra-fragile pieces will typically be shipped in custom-made packaging which may consist of cut-to-fit foam padding.
Where is my order confirmation email? Did my payment get processed?"If you successfully submit your order without an error message then the payment should have been processed. You can check to make sure by going to your account dashboard. To access your dashboard, simply click "Account" at the top right of any CupboardGlassPipes page.

Most often this question comes up because the order confirmation email went to the spam/junk email folder. Be sure to check these folders to see if the email was sent there. Also be aware that it may take up to an hour for this email to be sent.

If you're still unsure about the status of your order, please email the webmaster at webmaster@cupboardglasspipes.com or give us a call at 844-CUP-BORO
What does "__________" mean?"Head over to our Glossary of Glass page for definitions and explanations on the terminology and jargon used in the functional glass industry (and on our site!).
What is your return policy? To summarize our return policy, we generally do not accept returns due to the nature of the products we offer. If you receive an item that was broken during shipping please contact us immediately so we can file a dispute with the carrier.
Are your packages shipped discretely?Yes. We ensure that words like 'pipe' do not appear anywhere on the package. The return address lists us as 'CGP'.
Does CupboardGlassPipes accept PayPal?Not at this time - PayPal has specific policies in place prohibiting transactions that involve tobacco pipes.
Why don't you have any really really cheap / budget pipes? We have pipes as little as $10-20. CupboardGlasssPipes is proud to carry American-made products because they have superior design, functionality, durability, and craftsmenship, and are never made from cheap, thin glass that may be riddled with toxic impurities. The pipes we carry are always 100% borosilicate glass (pyrex) and were hand-made with care and tested to function correctly. Smoke shops that carry $5 dollar glass pipes are almost definitely selling glass that was mass-produced in Chinese sweat shops.
Why are some of these pipes sooooo expensive? Like thousands of dollars? Its hard to justify paying a ton of money for a glass pipe for its functionality alone. A large portion of our inventory is what's referred to as 'heady glass' - artistic pipes that are truly one-of-a-kind works of fine art. A single heady glass pipe can take dozens of hours of work by a single glass artist who has years of experience behind the torch. Some of these artists gain a national following - although somewhat 'underground', these artist are famous and influential in the industry, and therefore their pipes are very sought-after. These pipes aren't intended for your average smoker - they're exclusively for art collectors and and funcional glass aficianados. Many of these pipes will retain their value, and for certain artists, its plausible that the value of the pipes will only increase. They truly are collector's items. Many collectors will have a private gallery of art pipes that they never - or rarely - use for smoking. Check out our blog article about high-end art glass pipes for more information about the industry: High-End Heady Glass - Investment, Enjoyment, or Something Else?

If you're like most smokers who simply want something that works and works well, we have plenty of pipes that offer a great bang-for-your-buck value. These pipes are still handcrafted by American glass artists - just lesser-known artists who are making more economic production-line pipes. Click here to see our selection of glass pipes under $200.
So, these pipes are for tobacco use...?Why yes, yes they are. However, if you want to be like Stephen Colbert and smoke bacon out of your pipe, we won't stop you.
